Madison Traditional Academy - The Guild PTO
Principal's Update
Dear MTA Parents,
We need help with students following the dress code, mainly with their hair. Here is what the MTA Student-Parent handbook states: Hair must be neatly groomed, with no extreme cuts, styles, bleaching, or coloring. Bangs shall be worn above the eyebrows or pinned away from the eyes.
Through the parent compact, each family (parents (or legal guardian) and grandparents) must volunteer a minimum of twenty hours each school year. Families may not exceed more than two out of the ten months of school with zero hours to maintain their children’s enrollment for the following academic school year. Parents are needed for special projects, activities, and field trips. Parents should never stop in or drop by a classroom unannounced to avoid disrupting the learning environment. Parents must obtain teacher permission before coming into the school to volunteer. Parents wishing to volunteer in the cafeteria or playground must sign up on the Guild web page. In addition, there are several opportunities to volunteer at Guild events as well (including attending a monthly Guild Meeting).
The MTA Student Council is sponsoring its annual fundraiser, “Buck a Jean Days.” Every Friday in February, students may wear their jeans (instead of their uniform pants or shorts) to school if they bring a dollar. We ask that jeans are regular blue denim jeans with no patches, sequins, or holes.
Sincerely,
Chris Merrill
Principal
