Here's What's Happening at Pink
PLC: Parent Learning Community
Mrs. Andrew, Pink Counselor is organizing a parent learning community to read and meet online discussing books on various topics. She will be hosting our first online book study focusing on the book “The Whole Brained Child” by Dr. Dan Siegel. You can pick up the book this holiday season and read about it on her blog at http://pinkbookstudy.blogspot.com/ (also under “Events for Parents” on her website).
Discussion will begin in January and we will have one meeting in person on January 25th at 8:00 a.m. in the Library.

Small World Angel Collection
It is the time of year when the spirit of the holidays fills us with joy! We want to spread that feeling to families in Frisco who need help insuring the holidays are memorable and filled with wonder for their children.
Your child’s class is participating in a service project to sponsor an “Angel” during this holiday season. “Angels” are less fortunate children in this community. These families and children will have a joyful and memorable holiday season with your help and generosity. Attached is information about the Angel(s) that has been adopted by your child’s class, including clothing sizes, needs, and wishes.
If you would like to participate, please choose an item of need or a wish that the “angel” has listed or contact your child’s teacher to help coordinate gifts for your class angel.
Please send your donations to school with your child:
1. Un-Wrapped (we understand the kids like to wrap the gifts, but we are limited on space and usually un-wrapped gifts take less room. The angel family will take great joy in wrapping the gifts donated.)
2. In a bag labeled with the angel number
3. If you are buying for more than one angel, please send in separate bags, with angel number on each bag/gift
4. If you would like to donate wrapping paper, please send a roll with your gifts
Your child will take the gift to his/her classroom. Please send all gifts by November 20th. All items donated will be distributed to families on December 16 and December 17, 2015.

Telling is Not Tattling: Reporting Bullying
Part of being a safe school at Pink Elementary involves providing a way for students and parents to report when someone has witnessed bullying. There are a few ways to report bullying. Each classroom has yellow forms students can fill out and give to their teacher or turn in to the office. There is also a link on Mrs. Andrew’s website that goes to a confidential form that will be monitored and investigated. You can always email your child’s teacher if you know of a problem happening at school. Thank you for working with our staff to make Pink a safe place to be!
