Whitford Catholic Primary School
Newsletter 19 - 24 June 2020
Message from the Principal
Dear Parents and Guardians
As Western Australia’s COVID-19 restrictions are being relaxed even further, we are currently awaiting guidelines on how the WA Premier’s announcement will impact school operations as we move into Phase 4 restrictions for Term 3. In the meantime, please note that as the following procedures are working smoothly at the moment, they will continue for the remainder of this term:
1. Kindergarten and Pre-Primary students, together with their siblings may continue to be dropped off and collected as per current plans. Parents of students in these grade levels will be notified next week of changes for Term 3.
2. Meditation music will continue to be played in the mornings so that children can enter the main school quietly as they prepare themselves for the day ahead.
3. Staggered recess and lunch times.
4. Virtual school assemblies will take place this week and next.
5. Parents/guardians can enter school grounds to drop off or collect children, however, are not permitted in classrooms. At this point in time, it is preferable, for parents not using the drive-thru to collect children from either collection points on Barradine Way or the front carpark area.
6. All adults, including staff and parents are asked to adhere to the 1.5m distancing rule. To ensure our school remains a healthy place for students, staff and all in our community, it will be important for each of us to continue practising social distancing and good hygiene, especially once WA starts opening up to the rest of the country and beyond.
I must say it is such a privilege and pleasure to see the amazing work and enthusiasm of our children throughout the school day, whether it be sharing their news, showing their work or talking about something that interests them. To be greeted on a daily basis with happy and engaged students is one of the many rewards for those of us working with children in our schools. Thank you to our gorgeous group of students here at WCPS for keeping us all on our toes and making us smile every single day! We are blessed.
Many blessings

Administration of Schools (AOS)
Catholic Education Western Australia (CEWA) has committed to a new Administration software platform that has been a work in progress for the last couple of years.
As the demands of modern school increase, the services required to support schools increase faster still. AoS (Admin of Schools) is a comprehensive engine designed to integrate all of these services and unite them in one central management system. Whitford Catholic Primary School have been working with staff from CEWA in preparation for the installation of AoS, to replace our current Administration system.
Please be aware that this will occur as of 10 July 2020. There will be several changes such as a new BPAY reference number and SEQTA logins.
BPAY Reference Number
We will send you a Fee Statement showing your current balance and updated payment details in the coming weeks. Please take note of your new BPAY reference on the attached Fee Statement. Prior to making any BPAY payments, please update your bank account details to the new BPAY reference number.
SEQTA Engage
We will send Parents/Carers a link to setup their accounts. All families are required to setup their new account within a week of receiving the link in order to access past reports. Please ensure you keep your username and password, in order to use this again at the end of the year.
We appreciate your patience during the transition period.

First Holy Communion Commitment Weekend
With restrictions easing further, the parish has now confirmed that the First Holy Communion Commitment weekend will now take place on the 25th and 26th July. Students who will be making their First Holy Communion this year will need to attend one of these masses. This week each child will bring home a commitment card, a mass offering envelope and a prayer card. Please remember to bring all three items with you to mass on that weekend.
Lost Property
The front office has some winter jumpers with no names on them and an overflowing box of lost property, particularly rain jackets with names of ex students. If you have misplaced your jumper or other items please visit the office to collect. All jumpers and lost property not collected by this Friday morning will be sent to the uniform shop and sold as second hand.

Semester One student reports will be available electronically via the SEQTA Engage Parent Portal from Friday 3 July.
Parent login details
Whitford Catholic Primary School utilises the SEQTA Engage Parent Portal for parents to access student reports for students in Pre-Primary to Year 6 at the end of each semester. If you have not already done so, please log in to SEQTA Engage to ensure you are able to access your child's report.
