AMC Band Boosters

Dumline tryouts

The Drummer Percussion Clinics are for all current and potential/incoming drumline members for the 2023-2024 marching band season.

Current 8th graders/incoming freshmen can make arrangements to get bussed from AJH to Steele if needed.


It is highly encouraged that all drumline members attend all the clinics. This helps place everyone in the best position for the upcoming season.

Wednesday, May 3rd and

Fridays, May 12, 19, & 26

All dates are 3 PM - 5 PM in the Steele band room.

Spring Concert at Steele

Join us Thursday evening May 4th at 7 PM in the Steele Cafetorium for the Spring Concert which includes a short Awards Ceremony for Seniors. The Symphonic, Wind Ensemble, and Jazz Bands will play together for the last time this year.


Students with school-owned tuxes and dresses are asked to bring a change of clothes and leave their tuxes and dresses in the band room, labeled with their name, after the performance.

Payment due 5/12

First Marching Band payment of $100 is due by Friday, May 12th. Payments can be made payable to Amherst Band Boosters, and dropped in B's blue bin, or given to Mr. Cuilla. They can also be made through Venmo at

Memorial Day Parade!

Hard to believe it's almost time for the Memorial Day Parade! The Marching Band leads the parade dressed in their band t-shirt and typically shorts. Add on any fun red, white, and blue extras!

Line up starts at 9 AM, Parade step off is at 10 AM from Steele. Students will meet back at Steele for Senior Awards to be given out.

BOOSTER MEETINGS

Just a reminder that Booster Meetings are held on the 4th Tuesday of every month, excluding December. At 6:30 PM in the Steele Band Room. We encourage band students' family members from every grade to join us. Meetings are a great way to stay informed of upcoming events and help plan the fun extras that we provide for the students. The more the merrier!


May Booster Metting will be Tuesday, May 30th at 7:30 PM


Tuesday, May 23 there will be a 7th & 8th grade band concert at AJH at 7 PM. $3 admission.


Tuesday, May 30th at 6 PM incoming Freshmen will have New Member Orientation.

The Amherst Band Boosters is a volunteer-based non-profit that supports the school district's band program. Everyone's load becomes a little lighter when we all help out. There are currently a ton of committee openings that need to be filled with many different levels of involvement. Please remember that those who donate their time, and volunteer with events typically get their entrance fees to the event waived.


  • Car Wash Committee (only in July)
  • Spiritwear Committee (July-Aug, usually ends by 2nd game)
  • Band Camp Committee (organizes with our caterers, directs volunteers, oversees games)
  • Band Camp After Party (one-time event, planned in July/Aug)
  • Halftime Snacks (only home games)
  • Senior Dinner and Senior Night Committee (Preferably run by non-Senior Parents)
  • Fall Banquet Committee (organizes event in Nov. with assistance)
  • Fall Fundraiser (Night at the Races- Sept. 16)
  • Concert Ticket Committee
  • Uniform Room Committee

BOOSTER INVOLVEMENT

The Amherst Band Boosters is a non-profit, volunteer-based organization. The Boosters' mission is to support the Amherst Exempted Village School District’s band program in providing a positive and enriching experience to band students at all grade levels. This is possible thanks to fundraisers and community donations.


The Booster funds are able to provide for all grade levels of the band program beyond the district’s allocated budget. Some examples include:

Capital Expenditures

Instrument purchases and maintenance

Purchase and maintenance of concert attire

Purchase and maintenance of marching band uniforms

Music licensing fees and books

Competition fees

AMC Drill Choreography

AMC flags


Transportation

Trailer customizations for secure instrument and supply transportation.

Maintenance and repairs for the trailer

Gas and tolls to transport the instruments and supplies.


Incidentals

Student experiences

Snacks and treats

Student dinners and parties

Band camp spirit week

The Boosters are also able to organize chaperones and volunteers to support the bands with events such as:

Home and away football games at Steele

Year-round competition shows at Steele and AJH

Concerts for all grade levels

The Band Boosters are a vital part of the Amherst Exempted Village School District’s successful band program. Families of band students in any grade level are encouraged to participate in Band Boosters to help create an enriching and successful experience for their students.
