About Maya Angelou
I chose to make this about Maya Angelou because she seemed like a strong, courageous, committed woman. Maya Angelou worked with Martin Luther King. Martin Luther King was her mentor and helped shape her into who she is. She was a poet, award-winning author and civil rights activist. Maya was proactive to help Martin Luther King with the rights of other African American citizens. This woman values equality, independence, faith, citizenship and courage.
