NEWS FROM WERNER
Volunteering at Werner
Werner Wildcats,
We need you! Volunteer flyers to sign up to volunteer for your child’s class, PTA, Art and Library were given out during Back to School Night. If you couldn’t make it or didn’t get a flyer the links to the Volunteer Sign Up Genius sign up genius will be posted on the website, and the QR codes will be posted in each teacher’s window. General volunteering will be posted on the front door windows.
The PTA needs help with upcoming events, especially the Fall Fun Fest on September 23rd. Without volunteers we will have to cancel this and other events we have planned for the year. Please make sure to check out the PTA sign up genius to help with this and other fun events throughout the year.
For those who volunteered as room parent or room coordinator look out for an invitation to a room parent/room coordinator volunteer meeting that will be scheduled soon. During this meeting we will go over expectations for your role, helpful tips, and share templates to help make your role easier.
To everyone who has already signed up to volunteer, THANK YOU! Your support makes our school better and is so appreciated!
Thanks,
Your Werner PTA

What to do if your child is absent
Reporting Absences to the office is required by calling the attendance line: 970-488-5551 or
ParentVUE - Parent/guardian guide. If you do not contact the school, your student will be marked as unexcused.
What is the ParentVUE Report Absences feature?
Parents can submit attendance for a single date or range of dates by clicking on ‘Report Absences’ from the PVUE home screen; a note is required to excuse the absence. Absences submitted will be reviewed by the school attendance clerk. Absences submitted without a note are subject to being delayed, denied, or unexcused when reviewed by the attendance clerk. Schools may take up to 24 hours to process absences. Future absences are not visible in PVUE until the date of the absence.
Why would I enter attendance in ParentVUE?
If a student is not going to be attending school for a day or series of days, or arriving late from an appointment, the parent can document this absence in PVUE instead of making a call and leaving a voicemail to the attendance clerk. Once saved in PVUE, the attendance mark will then be reviewed by the attendance clerk.
As a parent, how do I report absences for my student?
1. Log in to ParentVUE
2. Focus to the student for which you are entering attendance
3. Click on ‘Report Absences’
4. Set attendance mark of ‘A – Absent’ or ‘I – Illness’
5. Add a note
6. Click Save
