Monday Morning Memo - Week 18
1/5/20 Happy New Year!
Dear Poupard Leaders,
2020...
The turn of the new year has brought on some really intense feelings for me. It kickstarted my internal countdown of our school closing in 6 and a half months. I'm sensing for myself that each month will become more and more difficult as we near June 12th. This whole transition seems like a mountainous task but I'm confident that we're up for the task. That mountain will remain a mountain unless we slowly begin chipping away at it. This month, I'd like for us to focus on two themes (planning and introductions/connecting).
Task 1: The LiM Leadership Team will begin planning our EOY Celebration over a half day on an agreed upon date later this month.
Task 2a: I'd like for teachers to begin connecting with Roy and Shelleyanne to come visit their classrooms to read a story together. They are hoping to visit simultaneously and are eager to begin meeting their new students.
Task 2b: We'll have another opportunity to continue meeting colleagues on January 17th for our afternoon PD session at Monteith. We will be partnering up with the Mason and Monteith staff on that date.
NWEA Testing
Winter NWEA testing begins this week across the building. Many teachers have signed up to test inside of the lab so please be sure to remind students to be respectful of others as they navigate through the building.
Have a great week!

Class Newsletters
Please share your weekly newsletters with me by "Ccing" me when they are emailed out to families. This allows for me to stay connected with all of the exciting things happening inside of your classrooms.
GES3
Our GES3 meeting dates and deadlines have been established by the team. You can access that information below. It will also be made available on our Poupard Schoology page.
GES3 Dates and Information Page
Walkie Talkie
All Classroom Teachers should have received a Walkie Talkie. Please take it with you when you take your students outside for an extra recess. The office staff will use it to locate individual students, typically for early dismissal.Emergency Information
Please be sure to review all of the emergency information for fire drills and tornado drills inside of your classrooms. We will be doing a sweep to make sure your emergency bags are stocked with everything that necessary and include updated rosters as they become available.
Behavior Referrals
Behavior Referrals must be completed using the Online Behavior Form. Staff must complete the behavior form anytime a student is sent down to the office for a major office referral. Homeroom Teachers and Special Area Teachers are responsible for contacting the family to notify them of any incidents that occurred inside of the classroom. Please call home over an email whenever possible. Personally, I'd recommend sharing anything over 3-4 sentences over a phone call as well.
