B.F. Skinner promoted behaviorism by publishing The Behavior of Organisms in 1938.
Background
In his early years he attended college at Hamilton College in New York and his intention was to become a writer. He received his Bachelor of Arts in English literature in 1926. Afterwards he attended Harvard University. He received his Ph.D. from Harvard in 1931. Skinner taught at the University of Minnesota and then later at Indiana University from 1946-1947. Skinner is best known for developing the theory of behaviorism and for his novel Walden Two (1948).
