Linden Leopard Growl
Here at Linden we are ONE! --- April 1, 2020 Edition
At this point you are likely aware, the Central Bucks School District will start "Distance Learning Phase 2" beginning Monday, April 6th. A Parent Guide to this next phase can be found on the CBSD Website. This week, our teachers have begun preparing for this initiative, while holding conferences. Once again, I am deeply grateful for their work and commitment and for your understanding and flexibility.
Over the next few weeks, our school calendar will remain the same. There is "no school" April 9th, 10th, and 13th.
As always, I am thankful for our school community. The challenges that we are facing were unexpected, and yet, we rallied - together. Through your wonderful pictures, videos and caring emails, your support has been felt.
"DOC BOX" Collection
Let’s tell doctors, nurses, and other medical people working on the frontline in hospitals how much we appreciate them!! The picture above is an amazing example from a child in Malaysia.
As some of you know, my husband and I are both physicians. Sam is a Cardiologist; he’s getting ready to spend more time in the hospital and ICU in the coming weeks. I’m a Psychiatrist and am trying to help people suffering from the stress of this pandemic; I’ve been doing a lot of thinking about how we can all spread positivity during this difficult time.
While we are staying home and safe, every day medical professionals are going to work to fight for us against the Coronavirus. They are brave and they are healers. Please help make sure they know how much we appreciate them. Let’s bring them some sunshine and happiness!
We will be collecting cards through a “DOC BOX” in front of Linden starting Thursday, April 2nd. Please encourage your kids to be creative- any note, card, letter, or drawing is fabulous. We will keep you posted about the deadline; they may most need encouragement mid-April as that is likely when hospitals will be most overwhelmed (I will be distributing the cards locally). Also stay tuned, we are working on establishing “doc boxes” at other locations in our community.

Story Time with Linden
Hello, Linden Family!
I hope this email finds you healthy and safe. I want to thank you for your support as we are all learning to balance family, distance learning, and working from home. While we are faced with this challenge in our world, I urge you to continue to find the "silver lining" in all of this - We are able to spend quality time with family, slow down from the daily hustle and bustle of schedules, and enjoy the precious gifts life has to offer that we don't take advantage of often enough.
As you make time to participate safely in family activities, I would like to invite you to join "Story Time with Linden." To view the first story, please click here. You can use this link each to access the new read-aloud of the day.
I hope you are all able to take a few minutes to relax and enjoy. And remember, we're never too old to enjoy a nice children's book!
Wishing you all good health and safety! I miss you all!
Mrs. Hanson Helps Us Share in Spring at Linden
I know the staff won't get to see the daffodils at the Flag Pole Garden at Linden this year, so I thought I would send some pictures I took today when I was there. Maybe you could send the pictures to everybody--hopefully some smiles will result. I hope everyone is healthy and safe.
Linden Family Sharing the Love
The Strigl family would like to share an initiative to get messages of love and caring to members of our community in nursing home facilities.
The Box of Love has been placed at the Main entrance at Linden for the purpose of sharing some community love. Students, parents, and community members are encouraged to come by and drop letters/ drawings and well wishes in that box to then be delivered to these facilities
This initiative has been approved by the Doylestown Health Department.
Please help brighten up our dear senior citizens who are unable to see their loved ones during these rough times.
Supporting Children through the Covid 19 Crisis – Helpful Tips for Parents and Caregivers
As parents/caregivers, educators, and students, we are all trying to adjust to this new (temporary) normal. During this uncertain time, it is important to remember that children look to their parents /caregivers, and other helpful adults, for guidance on how to react to stressful situations. With that in mind, we are sharing a link to a helpful resource from the NASP (National Association of School Psychologists), filled with developmentally appropriate tips for supporting kids during this challenging time. Please click here for this resource.
Stay safe & healthy,
Dr. McIntyre & Dr. Graz

Grab and Go Free Lunch Program
During the district-wide closure associated with COVID-19, the Central Bucks School District has put the following procedures into place in order to provide lunch to those students enrolled in the Free & Reduced Lunch Program.
If you and your family are in need, please reach out. Applications for free and reduced lunch can be found online here. We are processing applications daily. If you have questions about your application, or the process of application, please contact Renee Ziccardi, firstname.lastname@example.org.
In order to better serve our families in need of food assistance during the closure, several changes are being made to the district's food assistance program beginning on Monday, March 23.
- Distribution will take place on Mondays and Thursdays, with more than one meal (three meals on Mondays and two on Thursdays) provided at each pickup so that families need only visit their pickup site twice per week. Distribution takes place between 10:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.
- Barclay Elementary School will continue daily distributions.
- Pickups will take place at the following locations:
- CB East High School
- CB South High School
- CB West High School
- Barclay Elementary School
- Bridge Valley Elementary School
- Butler Elementary School
- Doyle Elementary School
- Kutz Elementary School
- Tohickon Middle School
- Titus Elementary School
- Warwick Elementary School
- Arbor Estates Community (1081 N Easton Ave, Doylestown)
Visit this page for addresses and directions to school locations: https://www.cbsd.org/Page/2952.
The following procedures are important:
- The student(s) enrolled in the Free & Reduced Lunch Program must be present at pickup.
- Alternative meal options will be available for those students with allergies, as necessary.
If you have any questions, or if this schedule makes it difficult for your family to pick up meals and you need alternate pickup options, please send email to Angela Linch at email@example.com.

Recess is Important too
Mrs. Logue and her daughters had some recess time at Central Park and saw the Illig family taking a run during their own recess! So great to actually see some Linden friends (even from a safe 6 foot distance!).
