All About Apples!!
This week was our trip to Kuipers Farm! We read apple stories and focused on apple vocabulary. The vocabulary included, stem, flesh, core, skin and leaf. They identified vocabulary in the apple stories, (fiction/non-fiction) and labeled parts of an apple on an art project. We used the apple terms in sentences, and practiced reading sentences aloud. Everyone completed their Johnny Appleseed booklets, and compared them with partners. Special thanks to all of our chaperones on the trip, the kids really enjoyed it!!! :)
Math Skills!
This week in Math, we began the skill of skip counting. We used number charts to skip count and highlight counting by 2's, 5's, and 10's. Skip counting is a challenging skill for most kindergarteners, and takes a lot of practice and repetition. Please continue to practice at home to 30 for 2's, 5,s and 10's. :)
