The Weekly Hoot

September 28 - October 4, 2015

Greetings All -

Happy Fall! I hope the signs of fall that we saw a couple of weeks ago will make a reappearance soon and stick around.

Connie has said that many of you have your SLOs done and are in the process of testing. I am sure you are all excited to get this wrapped up and use the data that you gain to guide your instruction this year.

Connie and I also began walkthroughs this week and are very excited for the instruction that is taking place in our classrooms. As the year progresses, it will be exciting to see our students go from learning all of the cognitive learning strategies you all have been teaching in ELA these past few weeks to having them put them to use during small group instruction and independent and shared reading time.

Dr. Wallis had many good things to say after her trip here today. Her next date here Monday, October 12. We will be utilizing the time to dig deeper into the comprehension toolkits. So far we don't have anyone taking off that day. Please try to be here so that you can ask the questions needed in order to make those an effective resource.

On the math front, the items that the Pearson rep were discussing with you at the training in August have been ordered. Hopefully they are here any day.

Connie don't get mad at me for this, but.... Connie went today to have a procedure done that would take care of the vertigo issue she has been having. The procedure was extremely uncomfortable, lasted 30 minutes, and ultimately didn't work. She went home after that because she just felt too sick to eat or even talk. Connie needs prayers for healing and prayers that a quick solution can be found to end this problem.

I hope everyone has a great weekend. I am off to Louisiana as soon as the last student is gone to go spend the weekend with Morgan. I hope all of you do something fun and come back recharged on Monday! :)

We are officially one month in now! Ya'll are rocking it!

Owl Wings This Week Go To...

Bridget Coronado, because as I mentioned Wednesday in the meeting, it has been a rough week with extra duties. I appreciate the early and late hours she is putting in to be a team player and making sure that all of our students are gotten to school and back home safely. Thank you Bridget!
