SV Week 22 Update
Riding the Wave
As we continue to navigate this surge in Covid, we are asking for your help in making sure that you keep your student home if the are sick, or are awaiting a test result. We have had some instances of parents testing kids and sending them to school while they await these results and then they come back positive which of course means we have more close contacts to identify and and notify. If your child has Covid symptoms they should remain home until symptoms have cleared and we have a negative Covid result. We do have home test kits available for students that can provide a result in 15 minutes, and these tests can be obtained through Nurse Lynn. If there is a confirmed Covid case please be sure to report it via the DVUSD reporting form so we can notify any close contacts and follow up with you regarding dates of return.
Congrats Mrs. Eberhardt
Mrs. Eberhardt was honored at the DVUSD Board Meeting Tuesday for her recertification as a Nationally Board Certified Teacher.

PBIS Update
The PBIS store is currently accepting $5 gift cards to Target, WalMart, Starbuck's, Sonic, McDonald's etc... along with brown lunch bags. Students will eagerly use their points to acquire and spend gift cards on their favorite treats. We appreciate all of the donations of toys, games and all items both big and small.
PTSO Update
Thanks for a great turn out at Yogurtology this past Tuesday, our next restaurant night is on 1/28 at Papa Johns. We are currently coordinating our Boosterthon Obstacle Fun Run this year which we are excited to bring back for the first time in two years.
The Boosterthon Fun Run will begin February 28th with a Virtual Kickoff and will culminate with the actual Fun Run on campus on Wednesday, March 9th.
We are planning on having a Family Movie Night on campus! Our tentative date is Friday, April 29th. We are looking for a sponsor for our concessions that would be interested in donating food and drinks, or in purchasing food and drinks to sell at Movie night. If you our your business interested we would love to partner for this great community event. Additionally, we are looking for an air compressor to borrow for Movie Night to inflate our screen.
If you are willing and able to help us out, please reach out and email us at sierra.verde.ptso@gmail.com

Starting this week, changes to the DVUSD Safe & Healthy Schools plan went into effect. These updates are captured on our Safe & Healthy Schools website as were articulated in detail during the Safe & Healthy Schools Board Report at our most recent Governing Board Meeting. The most significant change to the plan relates to student quarantine. You can also view a recording of the Safe & Healthy School’s Board Report by clicking here. If you have questions, please feel free to email us at remaininschool@dvusd.org.
DVUSD will continue to offer COVID-19 testing through January every Tuesday and Friday from 11:00 am - 2:00 pm at the District Office. Visit www.dvusd.org/covidtesting for more information.
