Recently release ISTEP+ scores show that TCJSHS is one of the highest performing schools in the state. TCJSHS ranked 28th out of 480 middle schools for their test scores in 7th and 8th grades.
Alternative School Provides Alternative Avenues
The Schergen's Center currently houses the Perry County Learning Academy, a joint venture between Tell City and Perry Central Schools.
- Designed for students who do not succeed in the traditional setting.
- Allows students to graduate faster than 4 years if needed.
- Helps students with credit recovery if core classes are failed.
- Classes can be completed online or with paper/pencil.
Senior-Mentors at WTE
Brennan Malone (senior) has created a mentorship program at WTE that incorporates senior athletes within classrooms. Students go to WTE to eat lunch and work with students every Friday; students have loved the program and consider it a major highlight of their week!
Chromebooks Are Here!
New to TCJSHS this school year is the implementation of Google Chromebooks. Students are able to take the Chromebooks home at night to complete assignments and research new topics. Teachers were trained for 6-7 months on how to utilize this tool in the classroom; this has created a major increase in everyone's ability to effectively collaborate on projects.
