#FamilyFriday
Our school-wide mentoring program began on September 13 with our first #FamilyFriday of the year.
The goals of our 2019-20 mentoring program are as follows:
Create an environment where all students feel safe, accepted and loved.
Ensure that every single student in our building has at least one adult who they trust as an advocate and mentor.
Have FUN!
WIN periods consist of students in grades 5-8. Much like a family, students don’t choose the peers in their room but they have the opportunity to build relationships, support one another and make the environment the best that it can be.
We are very excited about this initiative and are ready to build on the great work done last year.

We are striving to speak a common language about what is necessary for our students to grow and achieve. This could be a great conversation starter as you discuss what is happening in school with your child or check in on the work they are doing at home. Keep an eye out for "WICOR" in action!
2019-20 Student Council Update
Congratulations to Mr. Lumio and Mr. Winter, who will serve as our Student Council advisors for the 2019-20 school year. In an election held on September 17, the following 8th graders were elected as officers for this school year:
President - Molly Hitchen
Vice President - Delaney Turchi
Treasurer - Mia Sermarini
Secretary/Director of Public Relations - Molly Courtney
Congratulations to our new officers!
If you were around Maple Point during the last month or so, chances are you saw our Student Council members hard at work. Giving tours at 5th grade Orientation, assisting at Back to School Night and hosting the Welcome Back Dance are just a few of the things that kept Student Council busy as we kicked off the school year. We thank them for all they do to make our school a great place.
Tickets for the Student Council Halloween Dance on October 18 are now on sale in all lunch periods.
MP3 Kicks Off for 2019-20
Be Respectful.
Be Responsible.
Be Safe.
It was a busy month on the Principal's 200 Club board as 230 students were rewarded with gift cards (Amazon/Dunkin Donuts/Chick-Fil-A/Target) and snacks for upholding the values of MP3. We look forward to honoring even more students and staff in the months ahead!
Stay tuned for updates about our MP3 Ambassador program.
