In the final STAAR countdown, we have multiple opportunities to best support students. Please see how we are best supporting your child:

  • Morning Simon Time 8:10-8:40 Daily. Small group tutoring in reading and math as well as Reading Plus and IXL.
  • Writing extensions provided during the day from non UIL fine arts
  • Continue push-in interventions during math and ELA classes
  • Coming Soon! Three Saturdays in April we are partnering with Johnson High School students to come tutor our students leading up to math STAAR! More details coming soon!

Top 10 Reading Plus users on campus will earn a pizza party!

Check out students IXL Usage!

Our campus has purchased IXL as a supplemental program to help support students math skills and fluency as well. All students have access to the program through ClassLink and work on it both in math classes and through science at least 3 times a week. Please encourage your child to work on it at home as well as Reading Plus! Our goal is for students to move from practiced skills to MASTERED!

Social Emotional Learning (SEL) Lessons

As a campus, we have purchased Character Strong as our SEL program. All students engage in SEL lessons at the beginning of every Monday. This is a crucial component of Simon educating and supporting the whole child! Students learn about their values, making good decisions, appropriate social interactions and how to cope with their feelings and others.
