The Waldron Weekly ‘20-‘21
volume 29
From the Desk of Ms. Waldron
This past year staff, students, and families have endured so many changes. However, one constant has been the love that our community has for one another. Our community's commitment and dedication to student health and well-being has remained at the forefront as we continue to navigate through this time like no other.
As you and yours enter into Spring Break 2021, I wish you a week full of joy. A time filled with laughter, relaxation and the best of memories. I too will go a little off the grid, taking a break from checking emails as frequently. Please know that I will get back to you when we return from break. At this time I am planning to camp with my daughter, watch Netflix for hours and attempt to roller skate with Avery on some of the local bike trails. (Please pick me up off the ground if you see me.)
I look forward to welcoming students back 4th Quarter with much enthusiasm as we finish out this school year stronger than ever.
Serving your children,
Ms. Waldron
On behalf of our PTO, I want to thank all who contributed to our Step-it-Up! fundraiser. A special shout-out to Mr. Bragg for all of his hard work this week making the events happen.

IB Corner
This month's IB Learner Profile is THINKER.
“We use critical and creative thinking skills to analyze and take responsible action on complex problems. We exercise initiative in making reasoned, ethical decisions."
Providing children opportunities to practice their thinking skills will give them the ability to solve problems better in the future. Below are some activities that will help develop these skills.
STEM/STEAM Activities (science, technology, engineering, art, and math) - a great way to practice thinking skills

Have a family game night...play a problem solving game, such as Jenga, Connect Four, Clue, Checkers, UNO, Monopoly, etc….
Combine the 2 activities above and design a new game or board game with your child. What would it look like? How do you play? What are the rules?

What is a tax credit?
A tax credit is NOT a donation! It IS a dollar-for-dollar reduction in the state income tax you pay. If your tax credit contribution is more than the amount of state tax you owe, the credit can be carried forward up to five years. Receiving this tax credit will allow you to reduce the amount you owe the state or increase your refund. When filing your income tax return for the State of Arizona, the amount you designate to your school will be the amount you may claim as a state tax credit. This payment is eligible for Arizona state income tax credit as allowed by A.R.S. §43-1089.01. Tax credit contributions are non-refundable.
Designate your Tax Dollars to help Students of Scottsdale Unified School District #48
It’s a win-win situation for you and the school! Contributions can be claimed on your Arizona State tax return for either 2020 or 2021.
Complete the form below. Thank you in advance for supporting Anasazi and our students.
