Upcoming Opportunities
Parents and Families- It is not too late to sign up to judge Regional Science and Engineering Fair!
Did you miss our request earlier this month to judge science fair? We are still recruiting, so please review below and sign up by Friday if at all possible. My original message is copied below.
Dear Magnet Parents and Family Members,
Do you have a STEM background or know others in your professional network who do? I am excited to invite you to judge in person at the 2024 Rockdale Regional Science and Engineering Fair. Note that parents of participating students who judge will be assigned into a different category than their students but are still encouraged to participate if you are able.
Judges will be able to preview and score their assigned projects using the same on-line platform that was used last year beginning Friday, January 19, 2024. During this “preview period,” judges can score student work and consider questions in anticipation of the in-person interviews that will take place on Friday, January 26, 2024.
While this virtual preview period allows judges extended time to consider and preview projects, it is important to emphasize that RRSEF 2024 is not a virtual event. On the afternoon of Friday, January 26, 2024, Judges are asked to arrive at Rockdale Magnet School for Science and Technology at 12:30pm. A Chick-Fil-A lunch will be served followed by a judge’s meeting that will begin at 1:00pm. Following the meeting, judges will be able to interview students and complete the scoring of their assigned projects.
Please consider volunteering to judge at this year’s event by clicking on the Volunteer to Judge button on this linked page. Finally, please forward this message to any of your contacts who you think would be interested in judging at the science fair. We need approximately 100 judges to make this year’s event a success.
