What you can do
In Sierra Leone- Pregnant girls are shamed and barred from finishing their education. Sign an Amnesty International petition- https://act.amnestyusa.org/ea-action/action?ea.client.id=1839&ea.campaign.id=44302&ea.tracking.id=MessagingCategory_WomensRights~Country_SierraLeone
In Pakistan and Afghanistan- Girls are barred an education based solely on sex. Visit malala.org to join a campaign.
In Nigeria- The Chibok schoolgirls have yet to be returned home. Keep them in your memories and continue to tweet about them so they are not forgotten to the world.
In America- Women are far too often the victims of domestic violence or poverty. Spare furniture? Donate it to a women's shelter. Extra clothing? Many women are grateful to have it. Your time is a valuable commodity, and many shelters have an active volunteering program.
In Syria- Women are brutally treated as thousands flee in response to a civil war and extremism. You can do big things, such as take in a refugee, or little ones, such as keeping an open mind. Sadly, Islamophobia is preventing many families from thriving in the land of the free. When faced with ignorance, try to take a minute and offer another opinion.
