Universal People

Living In An Image

People should not be afraid of their governments. Governments should be afraid of their people.

Mr.V for vendetta said this to Evey. He said that to Evey in the Shadow Gallery while cooking toast egg for Evey. This relates to a dystopian society because in the movie everyone is afraid of the government because they have been brainwashed and everyone is totally and a lot if things has changed. Like when the Mr. V played music before blowing up the OBailey everyone was confused and curious because they haven’t heard music in a long time or ever. In today's world the government isn't really a threat because if one decision is made and the people don't like it there will be a chaos and riots.

Dystopian Sonnet

Peachtree Ridge the school of blue

Together we all make up a huge pride

We paint ourselves and where clothes of blue

We come out to fight and we never hide

We all walk in a rectangle until we hear a bell

All of us students have to be to class at seven ten in the A.M

When it rings and dings it tells us it’s too late to bail

Our dismissal time is at two thirty in the P.M

Every day of the week the food is the same thing in the same order

The assistant principals thinks we listen to them

Most of us stay in the college prep classes our grades aren’t on the border

Our face says we do but we really don’t think nothing of them

We stay blue in the lion’s dens

Government Monitoring

The World that we live in today is very dystopian meaning a world that is imaginary and the government is pretty much brain washing the citizens. Also there is no privacy because the government tries to monitor calls and see what kinds of emails you receive. We as the citizens only knows half the things that goes on in the government because they don’t want us to see the truth. So they print out or they only cast the non-important information so that we all are on the same page and no one knows the truth. Every day they just deceive us. When you are on the internet and if the government sees you as a threat to them in any way they will track down. They will make that there top priority to kill or put you away from the people of the United States. For example, like the move Eagle Eye starring Shia Lebeouf he was set up and with no face to face contact he could only listen to the person he was talking to in order to stay away from the FBI. Once they chose him they controlled him because he would do everything he was told and the government was right behind him trying so hard to track him down. Even though we live under a democracy the government pretty much controls us because we have to vote and we have to pay taxes.

In the movie or book series, Hunger Games, they have to have their names drawn and if it is they have to fight for their lives in this imaginary like world. To the government it is entertainment and to the friends, family, and citizens it is reality and terror. The reason is because they fear for their lives whenever it is time for their names to be drawn for a new hunger games and they know there is no escaping the government. I understand why we pay have to pay our taxes, but it is still dystopian because it is like they are playing us for our money. The reason being is because they say our taxes is supposed to help with the armed forces, the city roads and lights, the surrounding schools, and recreations, but they spend it on other things and countries. That’s one of the reasons why we are in debt because we pay our taxes and instead of trying to pay off the debt little by little they keep spending and the money debt clock keeps going up. With the debt rate I say they are playing us because we pay our taxes and they take our taxes from our pay checks but still not spending our money correctly. We do our part as citizens, but the government is can’t do theirs and spend our money the way it should be spent to help our country with our needs and help bring us out of debt. Our world may be dystopian, but at least we know about it.

Corey Hart - Sunglasses At Night

Sunglasses At Night Lyrics

"Sunglasses At Night"

BY: Corey Hart

I wear my sunglasses at night
So I can, So I can
Watch you weave then breathe your story lines
And I wear my sunglasses at night
So I can, So I can
Keep track of the visions in my eyes

While, she's deceiving me,
It cuts my security (has)
she got control of me
I turn to her and say

Don't switch the blade on the guy in shades; oh no
Don't masquerade with the guy in shades;
(oh no) (I can't believe it)
You got it made with the guy in shades; oh no

I wear my sunglasses at night
So I can, So I can
Forget my name while you collect your claim
And I wear my sunglasses at night
So I can, So I can
See the light that's right before my eyes

While she's deceiving me,
she cuts my security (has)
She got control of me
I turn to her and say

Don't switch the blade on the guy in shades (oh no)
Don't masquerade with the guy in shades
(oh no) (I can't believe it)
(cuz) You got it made with the guy in shades (oh no)

While she's deceiving me,
she cuts my security (has)
She got control of me
I turn to her and say

Don't switch the blade on the guy in shades (oh no)
Don't masquerade with the guy in shades
(oh no) (I can't believe it)
don't be afraid of the guy in shades
(oh No) (It can't escape you)
(cus) You got it made with the guy in shades (oh no)

I said
I wear my sunglasses at night
I wear my sunglasses at night
I wear my sunglasses at night

I say to ya now
I wear my sunglasses at night
I wear my sunglasses at night
I wear my sunglasses at night

I cry to you
I wear my sunglasses at night
I wear my sunglasses at night

The Darkeness

An artist named Corey Hart wrote and song a song Called Sunglasses at Night. His images and visions are what keeps him going but the security tries to take that away from him. In his lyrics he say, “I wear my sunglasses at night so I can watch you weave then breathe your story lines and so I can keep track of the visions in my eyes. Once he put his glasses on at night or anytime of the day that he wants he likes to look at things and the people he cares about. Wearing the sunglasses helps him remember and keep track of all the thoughts and images he saw that day so he won’t forget them. At the same time he has run so the police won’t catch him and take his glasses and all the memories that he likes to remember and the memories that means a lot to him. When he gets caught he says, “She has control of me”. He then turns and says, “Don’t switch the blade on the guy in shades; don’t masquerade with the guy in shades”. This means don’t take away his mask that he wears. Wearing the glasses is like his second life because he is a whole different person behind the glasses. This song is very Dystopian because he feels he is in two different worlds. His original world he is controlled by the government and he can’ do much. In the world where he wears the glasses he feels different and he is able to collect and remember all the memories he wants.

The Image of Nike

All Nike's new shoes that attract teens is a dystopian trend. The shoes not only attract teens, but they also attract people in their twenty's and on up. There are so many popular shoes that Nike makes like the Nike KD’s, Nike air max, Nike Air Zoom Turf Jet's, etc. When the Nike fans gets an update or they find out that there is a new shoe that they like, they immediately save money and buy it the day it comes out. Most people but prefer to buy them online. When they wear these shoes they takes care of them and if you step on them and don't say sorry you got something coming for you. This makes this a dystopia because everyone is wearing the same thing. Even though they may have a different color it is still the same shoe. Everyone's mind thinks the same. They see the shoe and they want to be the first to wear them or just to wear them because everyone else is.
