Early Life:

Edward Theodore Gein was born on August 27,1906 in La Crosse ,Wisconsin. As a kid he would spend most of his time in the farm he lived in and would only leave to go to school.Ed's teachers said he had strange manners and was bullied. His mom,Augusta, would read to him and his brothers parts of the bible every night and would talk to them about the evil of the world.His mother strongly disliked outside people and would punish him when he tried to make friends.

years later, Ed was suspected of killing his brother because he would talk bad about his mother and would go against what she believed in. Their mom was the only person Ed really loved so he was really bothered by what he said.

Ed Gein only killed two people;the first, Mary Hogan and second,Bernice Worden and was captured in his second murder.

Ed was suspected of killing Bernice since she worked at a local store and her coworkers saw that Ed was the last person she was with .So when the police went to his house they found the body of Bernice and Mary. they also found these things;

Four noses,Whole human bones and fragments,Nine masks of human skin,,Bowls made from human skulls,Ten female heads with the tops sawed off,Human skin covering several chair seats,Mary Hogan's head in a paper bag,Bernice Worden's head in a burlap sack,Nine vulvas in a shoe box,Skulls on his bedposts,Organs in the refrigerator,A pair of lips on a draw string for a windowshade,A belt made from human female nipples,A lampshade made from the skin from a human face.

most of these body parts were from cemeteries,where Ed would go dig them up. He said he would do this because he was in a "daze-like" state. He also stated that soon after his mothers death Ed started to create a woman suit so that he could put it on and become his mother,which is why he had so many body parts.

He was sent to life in prison but was later found not guilty by reason of insanity and acquitted and was transferred to a mental hospital and died in 1984
