Wind energy
Wind energy:
- Wind energy is mostly created or generated by wind turbines.
- Wind turbines are usually found in plains or hills so they have room to generate their power so the wind is accumulated into the wind turbines.
- Wind power is currently the fastest growing energy source of electricity production in the world.
Doing Its job
- This is an example of a wind turbine doing its job by producing energy for the power lines to power lights, houses,etc.. For example the wind turbine (as in the photo) has a cable wire running down to a computer monitoring the energy being transferred into the "high voltage transmission transformer" which powers the power lines.
Advantages
- Wind energy is friendly to the surrounding environment, as no fossil fuels are burnt to generate electricity from wind energy.
- Wind turbines requires less space than average power stations.
- When combined with solar energy electricity. This energy source is great for developed and developing countries to provide a steady, reliable supply of electricity.
How it works
- The wings of the turbine rotate around in circles to create the energy; Then transformes into electricity; Which runs down to the computer that monitors the energy, then it leads to a "high voltage transmission transformer", then finally reaches the power lines to power the houses and buildings.
Conclusion
Wind energy is fun to learn about when you get into it! To just study about it is interesting! I hope I influenced you all to learn more about wind turbines and energy. I also have a question for you... What do you think of when you hear the words "Wind energy"?
