Third-grade students in Mrs. Alleman’s class at Cankton Elementary are officially published authors and illustrators. They held a book signing party to celebrate the publication of their book, The Turkey Who Boycotted Thanksgiving.

Eunice High FFA members honored our local veterans with an all-school assembly and a breakfast on Nov 8. The members and Eunice High students were humbled to host our veterans.

Eunice Junior High School held its annual Science Fair on November 8, 2018. The following students placed in the school-based fair and will now compete at the district level. Each teacher on campus nominates a student based on the following characteristics, but are not limited to: improved grades/growth, improved behavior, improved responsibility, cooperation skills, leadership ability, helpfulness, school spirit, positive attitude, strong work ethics, respectfulness, follows directions.

Dads and Kids, a local organization, is gifting a drawing winner from EJHS each month with a tablet with Bluetooth capabilities. This month a drawing was held with each student with perfect attendance and another for each Student of the Month nominee. This month's drawing winners were Logan L (perfect attendance) and Jesten C (SOTM).
Thank you to Dads and Kids for taking notice of our students who attend school regularly and who are standing out in the classroom with their effort and willingness to learn.
Several EJHS students attended the Special Olympics Bowling event held in Lafayette on Friday, November 9th. Thank you to Mrs. Gadrienne Ardoin and Ms. Patricia Johnson for accompanying these students as they were able to compete against other schools in the area; as well as, place. Congrats to our bowlers!

Civics students and 2 members of the Student Government from Northwest High School attended Mock Legislation Day at the State Capitol. Students participated in a mock committee session and floor vote as well as met with legislatures and lobbyists.

"Let's Give Thanks " sponsored by the Lawtell Head Start Parent Committee & Class Parent Representatives, community partnerships with Slammin Stuff Breads, Co. by Tamarika Barlow , and former Head Start Student Ashante Lemon "Class of 97" for gifting the Lawtell Center with 2 Fire HD8 pads for use with our new Creative Curriculum. The children were also presented with perfect attendance awards for the month of November.
