Pine Press
January 21, 2022
Pine Families,
We hope that you have been staying safe and healthy during our school closure, and we would like to share some reminders regarding support resources available to all students.
-An Alma Area Community Resources List can be found on the Guidance page of the Alma High School webpage (https://www.almaschools.net/o/ahs/page/guidance) under the "Mental Health Resources" link. This resource list can connect you to a wide array of support services.
If your family is in need of resources of any kind, you can call 2-1-1 or go to www.211nemichigan.org to be connected with support resources in Alma and the surrounding communities.
-If your student feels they need to connect with our school success mentor upon returning to school, please let Mrs. Bailey know and she will be sure to make contact with your student in the coming week.
-You are now able to order free at-home COVID-19 tests by going to www.covidtests.gov. Every home in the U.S. is eligible to order 4 free at-home COVID-19 tests. This site will also allow you to find other COVID-19 testing resources.
-Please be sure to continue taking precautions to prevent the spread of illness. If your student is experiencing any symptoms of illness when we return to school, stay home and call the school to report the absence.
-We encourage students to use this time off school in a productive manner. Use this time to catch up on sleep and also catch up on assignments or in classes that they may have fallen behind in.
We care about our students' overall well-being as much as we care about their academic well-being. We look forward to seeing everyone in school on Monday and resuming normal school operations. See you soon.
~Mrs. Adams

BRRR!!!
With January comes frigid temperatures! Please make sure students are coming with gloves, hats, boots, and snow pants each day. When the "feels like" temp is 0 degrees or below, they stay inside for recess. If temps are above 0, they go outside. Please make sure they are dressed for the weather. Even when it is cold, it is great for the students to go outside and get fresh air!
Alma PTO Meetings ~ Free Childcare is provided!
The Alma Elementary Parent Teacher Organization, AEPTO, provides several very important functions for elementary students in Alma Public Schools. Their primary purpose is to provide opportunities, experiences, and equipment that will enrich students’ educational experience at APS.

Please remember to send a note with your child in the morning if there are any changes.
