Well...It's Here
Thank you, counselors, for getting things prepared and organized so that we can have a smooth test administration each day.
Teachers, thank you for all that you've done to prepare the students. It is now up to them. I know that we all have worked as hard as we can to keep distractions to a minimum, to give them as much instructional time as we can, and to increase their confidence daily.
Encourage them, because they need it. Please be vigilant about actively monitoring. Room distractions must be kept to a minimum, and preferably, there will be no distractions.
Lunches may run late, depending on when everyone gets started and when students finish. Please pick up your testing materials so that you can get ready to test as soon as students get settled. We will hurry students to their classrooms as they arrive.
AFTERNOON SCHEDULE:
Monday, Wednesday, and Friday afternoon classes will be 5, 6, and 7.
Tuesday and Thursday afternoon classes will be 3, 2, and 1 (in that order).

Campus Needs Assessment Committees
Demographics seeks to answer "Who are we?"
Perceptions seeks to answer the question "How well do we do business?"
Academic Achievement seeks to answer the question "How are our students doing?"
Processes and Programs seeks to answer the "How do we do business?" and "What are our procedures and practices?"
For each of these categories, we will have to work through some questions and write a summary statement. We will identify strengths and needs, or weaknesses, so that we can then write a problem statement and identify a root cause. From there we can determine what to address in our Campus Improvement Plan.
Below is a comparison of the new 4-committee, or "Multiple measures of data" and NCLB's 8 areas:
Group Chairpersons may want to divide the questions up among your members or you may want to work on them together. You may not need to answer all of the questions, but you definitely want to read all of them to be sure you are answering the questions that will provide you with the best information.
Be sure to save the data that you used when answering your questions. All of that will go into a binder which we will keep in the office.
I know this sounds a bit daunting, but we can get it done by working as a team. We've done it before, and this year will be no different. In fact, it may be more revealing and helpful in determining our needs. Thank you in advance for your hard work on this valuable endeavor.
