Thank You: Professional Development Feedback

Response to the survey requesting feedback on the December 3rd PD day was overwhelmingly positive. Suggestions for improvement included more time for teachers to work independently and in groups, more representation from secondary, more differentiation based on need, and a focus on either FIP or Safe and Civil, not both in one day. Thank you for the honest feedback! We will be using your input with the PD teams to plan our next day of learning on February 11, 2015.

Common Core Here to Stay

You've probably heard of the attempts by some legislators to repeal Ohio's Learning Standards (a.k.a.: Common Core) and replace them with the old standards from Massachusetts until Ohio could craft its own learning standards. The latest attempt to repeal the standards has failed. You can read about it in this very brief article: http://www.marionstar.com/story/news/local/2014/12/10/legislators-may-shoot-lame-duck-common-core-repeal/20214559/. This means that we are continuing to implement Ohio's Learning Standards. Carry on.
