Report Card Update
Due to the unforeseen weather closures, we will be sending Quarter 2 report cards home on Wednesday, February 6, 2019.
Winter Concert Reminder
Dear MCCS parents:
Hopefully you saw the announcement in last week’s newsletter about our upcoming Winter Concert! In turning the school into a living museum for the 2Q Leo Night, we found we had too much musical content to realistically fit into one evening. We have opted to let 2/3 shine in the spotlight on Leo Night, and hold a separate Winter Concert for K/1 and 4/5 on Thursday, February 7 at 6 o’clock.
This concert will feature performances by the 4th and 5th Grade Strings, the MCCS Chorus, plus a fun musical presentation of “The Mitten” by the K/1 classes. It should last no longer than 45 minutes.
Students should please arrive between 5:30 and 5:45 and dress as follows: Chorus: chorus shirt and dark pants/skirt. 4/5 Strings: white shirts and dark pants/skirt K/1: dress comfortably!
In addition, I will be available after the performance to meet with parents of rising 6th graders and discuss any questions you may have regarding middle school music selections.
I hope you will be able to join us for this special event, but I also understand about balancing life and previous commitments with this late addition to the school calendar. We will make sure to program this in advance going forward!
Thank you for your support of all of our wonderfully musical students!

Valentine Policy from LCPS
“In keeping with current practices designed to protect the health and safety of all children, elementary students in Loudoun County Public Schools are not permitted to distribute candy or other food items to classmates. As Valentine’s Day approaches, it is important for parents to understand that candy brought to school by students, including candy attached to Valentine’s Day cards, will be returned to the parent. Children are permitted to share Valentine's Day cards with each other, but they cannot give out candy.”
