Vision

A middle school that cultivates scholars to be catalysts of change, life-long learners, innovators, and competitors in a global society
Big picture

#AlltheWayUp

We continue to make great strides toward our vision of creating catalyst of change, life-long learners, and competitors in a global society as we are racing AlltheWayUp.

As we continue to visit classrooms, we have seen small group interventions in action, teachers aggressively monitoring, students annotating their text, and grade levels who come together to support each other recognizing the urgency of ensuring student learning.

During our meeting last week, Ms. Healey reiterated the importance of our work and validated our improvement and various accomplishments. Our goal is to accelerate transformation; therefore, change is inevitable. I really enjoy the quote above because it reminds me of our ultimate goal which is AlltheWayUp to be the best middle school not only of our ACE middle schools but the District. And, in order to do so, we must perfect our various practices, having the implication to adjust and change often.

Thank you to everyone who continue to support our students in their efforts to be ready for the next grade level and to succeed in the upcoming STAAR assessments.

Let's make sure that we

  • stay focus on the high leverage TEKS, implement action plans, and use data to drive our instruction.
  • actively participate in our PLC sessions. Collaborate with our teams; we know that success in education is powered by effective teams and effective practices.
  • prepare and plan our lessons so that teaching is purposeful and we are able to maximize instructional time.
  • challenge students through academic rigor. Let’s make students use reasoning beyond initial thinking. Let’s ignite in them the desire to know more and apply new

  • leverage the positive relationships we have built so that students trust teachers and teachers trust administrators

THANK YOU

  • Ms. Brown for leading our students in the Moment in African American History every morning during announcements. Our students have an opportunity to practice their speaking and reading skills as they share with the whole school a short fact about AA history.
  • Mr. King, Ms. Molla, Ms. Iberosi, Ms. Bickford, Mr. Guillory, Ms. Perez, Ms. Brown, Ms. Rocha, Ms. Chapman (visiting teacher), Mr. Salcido (visiting teacher), Ms. Carroll, Ms. Vasquez, Ms. Davis, and Mr. Carballo for their dedication and support as they attended Saturday School providing small group support as they addressed low TEKS and areas of improvement. Also, shout out to Ms. Maloy and Ms. Trent as they finalized preparations for special education meetings.
  • Ms. Miranda for securing lunch from Olive Garden for our PD day. We know that having a good lunch motivates us to keep working and learning.
  • Ms. Galvan for her diligence in getting all the purchase requisitions before the deadline on Friday. We know federal money expenditures are very tricky, but she was able to make it happen. We look forward to having these resources and supplies on campus to distribute for you to use with our kids.
  • Ms. Saucedo for maintaining the office looking good and organized as she collaborated with our office helpers to decorate the door. This is a great example of updating displays every 3-4 weeks to give a fresh look and display new materials/themes.
