Mental Health Minute
November is National Homeless Youth Awareness Month. According to the National Center for Homeless Education, over one million children and youth experiencing homelessness are enrolled in public schools in the United States. This challenge of homelessness adversely impacts student academic performance. The following link provides resources to those who may be in need.
If you or someone you know needs resources you can also contact your local school social worker or school counselor.
November 13th is World Kindness Day. Here are some activities that you and your student can do to celebrate.
ATTENDANCE MATTERS: Ask Your Child About...
November Attendance Challenge
When students are not in school, they are missing valuable information. Students should not miss more than 15 days per school year. Attendance has a direct impact on learning!!!!
FOOD DRIVE
Our last food drive was a great success! This time we are partnering with the Richton Park Police Department to collect even more! Please consider donating non perishable food items!
Star 360 Testing - Benchmark 2
Students will take the second benchmark assessment for Star 360 between December 1st through December 8th. We will be looking at student growth from the September assessment. We need students to be well rested, have a healthy breakfast, and put their best foot forward. We will be sharing incentives for students who hit their growth targets shortly!
Ask your teacher what your student's goal is at parent teacher conferences!
