SIS/SMS COVID-19 UPDATE
April 23, 2020
=====Culture. Relationships. Future Ready=====
Good Morning Families and Staff;
Once again I hope everyone is healthy and safe. I know there has been a lot of information over the past month thrown at everyone. I just want you all to know that I appreciate the efforts of staff, the students and the support of families. This COVID-19 situation that has been placed upon us is not something any of us ever thought we would have to navigate. However, it has reassured my faith in families coming together and staff working for the greater good of their students.
As I have stated in my previous updates, I understand the amount of information coming at everyone involved is overwhelming at times. Please know that I recognize that, but also know that it is better for more communication than to feel as though anyone is left in the dark. The staff and students are doing amazing work right now making connections with each other in order to continue some sort of normalcy.
You will find attached a schedule for students and/or parents to pick up personal belongings. We sent out a notification assigning dates and times for the SIS building. Please know that we are taking every precaution for safety first. We will keep our school community updated on that process.
Again, I want this to be short due to the fact that you will find a great deal of information also attached. I have enjoyed reading books and recording them for kids to listen to. Please feel free to share with younger family members. I’m just trying to stay connected with the students and families. I miss everyone terribly and can’t wait for the day that I can stand out front and greet every student with a smile and a hello. I miss my normal routines.
Have a great rest of your week. I’ll be in touch.
Mr. Proctor
GET YOUR STUDENT'S "STUFF"
All 6th grade families can pick up their student's belongings on Tuesday, April 28, between 3:00 and 6:00 pm at the exterior door of their classroom. A staff person will be available to hand out the bags. Signs will be posted.
For 7th and 8th grade students, we are scheduling appointments beginning next week on Wednesdays and Thursdays until the end of May from 7:30 am to 4:00 pm. Please call the SMS office to make an appointment.
Please bring any textbooks or library books back when you come to the school. There is a basket in front of the SMS office during office hours or you can bring them when you pick up your student's belongings.
Thanks for your cooperation and patience while we work to safely and efficiently return your student's belongings to them. If you ever have any questions, please call the SMS office at 503.769.2198.
