Caruso Connect - May 19th
Caruso Middle School is an inclusive and vibrant community where Blue Jays
take ownership of their social-emotional and academic growth by supporting,
challenging, and celebrating self and others.
Good Evening Blue Jay Families:
A HUGE congratulations to Maddie M. for placing third at the state track meet in 7th grade shot put. She threw 31 feet 2 inches! WAY TO GO MADDIE!
In this week's Caruso Connect please see some important reminders about the end of the year and see who our Blue Jays of the Week are!
Finally, our PE department is in need of gently used tennis rackets! They are not used for tennis but for tennis baseball. If you would like to donate one, please have your student bring it to Mrs. Spies.
Enjoy the weekend,
Tim, Jim, Caitlin & the Caruso Staff

New DHS Summer Course for Rising 9th Graders
(Communicated 4/6/23)
Preparing for High School Honors and AP – Introduction to Ethics and Philosophical Thinking
Honors and Advanced Placement (AP) courses are a great way to prepare for college, raise your GPA, and give you a preview of more in-depth college style classes. However, the courses cover an immense amount of material, with the added pressure of standardized exams. Succeeding in these classes requires a more focused, independent, and pragmatic approach to learning. This course is designed for students taking, or planning to take, any Honors or AP level course that requires writing, research, and argument defense. Focusing on the development of historical thinking skills, reading comprehension, critical thinking, and analyzing text through multiple perspectives, this course takes students through four modules: Introduction to Philosophical Thinking, Ethical Theories, Political Philosophy and Applied Ethics.
Open to: All Students, especially designed for rising 9th graders.
Credit: 1 elective credit. This course does not meet a graduation requirement.
Cost: $300 ($400 Out of District), 2nd semester, 3 weeks, all day.
