Portuguese Invades Goa
Reporter: Good Afternoon!
Native: Thank you for having me!
Reporter: Of course! Today I would like to talk to you about how you were affected by the Portuguese invading your civilization. To start off with, where are you from?
Native: I am from the island of Goa. Right off of the coast of India.
Reporter: How was your colony most affected by the Portuguese invading?
Native: Affonso Albequerque invaded Goa and killed off most off the Muslim population because they were resisting his rule. So, this definitely affected me and my family. Luckily enough none of my family members died.
Reporter: well that's great to hear! Why did the Portuguese find value in your island?
Native: I think the Portuguese found great value in our island because it was right near the coast, making it an easy trading outpost. Also, since we were right near India, it gave them easy access to other coastal cities.
Reporter: Thank you so much for your time! I really appreciate it!
Native: My pleasure, thank you for having me!
