EMCSD hosts Resource Fair for students and families

Before the official start of school, El Monte City School District hosted a resource fair at the Jeff Seymour Family Center, providing students with brand new backpacks and school supplies. In total, over 1200 backpacks were distributed to students and families. All supplies were donated by various local community organizations including: Our Savior Center, El Monte Promise Foundation, El Monte & South El Monte Chamber of Commerce, Rosemead Chamber of Commerse, and Baby2Baby.

EMCSD Inaugural "Welcome Reception" was major hit!

Over 200 new families arrived at the Jeff Seymour Family Center to meet their school Principals at the District's Inaugural Welcome Reception. All students received backpacks, school supplies, and welcome gifts from their respective schools. In addition to the Welcome Reception, each school held "Welcome to School" socials for all their TK & Kinder families to meet school staff, tour their campuses, and find their classrooms. “It was really great to get a chance to walk around the campus because it's huge and it would have been overwhelming on the first day of school,” said new Durfee Parent, Sandra De Anda. “Now that I know the setup and where my daughter’s class is, I feel a lot more comfortable sending her to school.”
