New Visitor Check-In System
Spotlight on STEM!
Stakeholder engagement is fundamental in sustaining Ball Ground STEM Academy’s STEM Program. BGSA collaborates and purposefully works with partners to support STEM learning. The school’s Partnership Ambassador, STEM Committee, and grade-level representatives strategically seek out partnerships that actively support STEM learning opportunities. Additionally, partners attend open house events to learn more about BGSA’s STEM Program, the Problem-Solving Process, and visit STEM learning experiences. Partners support hands-on learning activities, provide information about 21st century skills, and showcase their STEM Career. Select grade-levels take “walking field trips” to visit local businesses and participate in hands-on STEM learning opportunities.
STEM in Action!
4th grade took a field trip to the Booth Western Musuem. Students were given the opportunity to use their creativity and writing skills throughout the field trip. Collaborating with their peers' students analyzed artwork to describe character traits, compare different art, list nouns and adjectives to describe the setting of a painting and so much more. The day was full of collaboration, communication, creativity and critical thinking.
