Tamanend Connections

We Are Together Tamanend!

March 11, 2013

True Grit

At TMS, we talk about IF-YET-TRUST as it relates to students working hard, never giving up, and relying on their teachers, parents and other students to support them when they need it. Another word for that is "grit." This past weekend the Tamanend Players blew audiences away with their production of the musical, Anything Goes. Over 130 students were involved in the musical which had an amazing set, costumes, music, acting, sounds and lights,... and dancing. Roughly 100 students learned to tap dance for the show! Every single student and adult involved in the musical rose to the challenge and made this a performance one that the Tamanend Community will talk about for years to come. Well done!

Relay for Life Kick Off Assembly

Last Friday, Tamanend kicked off Relay for Life for our 8th and 9th graders. There will be an interest meeting for students who want to participate on March 15th.

Interim Progress Reports - Wednesday

IPRs will be available on the Parent Portal this Wednesday, March 13th, but don't wait until then to check your student's progress. Anytime is a great time to sit with your middle schooler and see how things are doing. Ask your student if you have any questions. If you still have questions or concerns, please contact your student's teacher(s) or counselor asap.

School Zone

Warrington Township Police Department has asked that we remind everyone of the school speed limit of 15 mph during our arrival and dismissal times: 6:55-7:40 a.m. and 2:15-3:00 p.m.. That limit applies to the marked areas of Stuckert Road, and our parking lot. Thank you for slowing down for our students' safety.

PSSA Testing - No Cell Phones Allowed

The Pennsylvania Department of Education has very strict rules about cell phones during PSSAs. Simply put, they are not allowed. Students should leave their cell phones at home or in their lockers during PSSA testing. Please remind your student to get a good night's sleep, eat a healthy breakfast, bring two #2 pencils, and leave the cell phone at home. Thank you.

We will magically turn our school entrance, cafeteria, and gym into a themed ballroom for a Freshman Dance that our 9th Graders will never forget... well, it isn't really magic that does it. It is the dedication of our TMS parents! 7th, 8th and 9th grade parents are needed. Please plan to attend on April 18th at 7 p.m.
  • Staff Appreciation Luncheon: We appreciate Mrs. Christine Pataki for coordinating the TMS Staff Appreciation Luncheon this year which will be on May 7th. To volunteer, please email Mrs. Pataki at flojo1213@comcast.net.

Students can purchase breakfast items from 7:10 a.m. until 7:27 a.m. NEW LOCATION FOR THE CART: Outside the Auditorium by the back of Mr. Sanchez's room so that students may buy breakfast as they arrive to school. Students will be able to use their IDs to swipe their account number, or they can enter it manually. Students will be allowed to eat breakfast in their homerooms.
