CRS Rice Bowl Still Matters!!!

More Than Ever! COVID-19 changed the normal process for collecting CRS Rice Bowls for 2020. Fortunately, people can still turn in their Rice Bowl gifts. The need is even greater now due to the spread of COVID-19 to every country where CRS serves. People in many places have little or no access to proper medical care, and hospitals may be many hours travel away by foot. Livelihoods are fragile. Hunger is real. The next two weeks, you can submit your Rice Bowl gifts through the parish’s collection baskets or the parish office. Checks are strongly encouraged, in place of coins (put ‘CRS Rice Bowl’ on memo line). To give directly to CRS (online, or by phone or mail) go to https://bit.ly/2OMCJBE. CRS Rice Bowl is a way we can save vulnerable lives from COVID-19 and from hunger.

From the Desk of the Social Worker

I am excited to be back at HNS for a wonderful new school year! I am available to help your children learn healthy ways to cope with problems. I am also available to speak with parents about any concerns you may have.

As a reminder, I will need your permission to see any student in grades Pre-K through 5th, but students in the middle school may self-refer. I always let students know that in some situations I will need to contact a parent to ensure their well-being. If a student has an emergency, I may see them without parental consent, but I will contact you when indicated.

I will be at HNS on Wednesday.

Please feel free to call me if you have any questions or concerns!

How Can You Help??

Box Tops are a great way to help our school pay for a variety of education tools and experiences for our kiddos. Please clip Box Tops you find on products you buy and send them to school. We are always collecting them!

AND NOW, there's an even easier way!!! New Box Tops are now captured electronically. To do that, you must scan your store receipt into the Box Tops app within 2 weeks of the purchase date. If you don't want to bother with that, feel free to send your store receipts to school and we will scan them for you!

Please see the attached flyers for product and app information.

Thanks for your support!

Girls Basketball

Hello everyone! My name is Kim Gray, and I am the Roncalli Youth Girls Basketball Program Director. I wanted to pass along information for the upcoming sign ups for this year's basketball season. It is open for girls grades Kindergarten-8th grade. Is there any way you can put this information in your newsletter or any way you communicate with your families? Signups are this Saturday and Sunday August 8th and 9th from 11-1 in the new gym at Roncalli (St. Vincent's Gym.) Here are a few documents you can share with your families if you are able. Sorry for the late notice, league signups are coming up, and we wanted to get a head start. If parents are unable to attend either day, just send them my way and I will follow up! Let me know if you have any questions! Questions can also be sent to girlsbball@roncalli.org .

Thank you ahead of time,

Kim Gray
