Return to School Timeline
Friday, March 12 - Monday, March 15 - ALL RO Families must complete the school decision form sent via email by central administration by 5:00pm on Monday, March 15. This information is vital to our planning. Please complete ONE form per student.
March 15 - March 19 - All students follow SAME schedule for school as they have this past week.
Wednesday, March 17 AND Wednesday March 24 - All RO students log on for attendance at 8:40 as they have been each Wednesday. However, teachers will be assigning students work to complete on those two school days and teachers will log off and use these two school days to plan for all students returning in the coming weeks. Teachers will not be accessible to students after the work has been assigned on just those two days.
The schedule for high needs students in our Foundations Program, our Therapeutic Learning Center and our Skills Program DO NOT CHANGE on those days.
March 22 - March 26 - ALL THIRD GRADERS will come to school as Cohort AB students; all third graders will come to RO from 8:40 (normal drop off) to 1:00pm on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday of that week. This will provide our youngest students, least familiar with our school building, with a week to acclimate to a fuller week and begin practicing routines like recess and lunch.
SAME hybrid schedule for all fourth and fifth graders that week.
March 29 - April 2 - ALL THIRD, FOURTH and FIFTH Graders will come to school FIVE days with the current schedule; all third, fourth and fifth graders will come to RO from 8:40am - 1:00pm on Monday (3/29), Tuesday (3/30) and WEDNESDAY (3/31).
Thursday and Friday (April 1 and 2) are HALF Days for Parent Teacher Conferences. All students at RO will come to school both those days from 8:40 - 11:30am.
Those students that elect to remain REMOTE ONLY STUDENTS will begin REMOTE Classes with their new teacher on Monday, March 29. There will be an orientation scheduled for remote only students to meet their new teacher during the week of March 22.
April 5 - All in-person learning students begin attending school five days a week. Drop off time is from 8:25 - 8:40 and dismissal is at 3:00pm. Students will follow the same drop off and dismissal procedures.
If you live more than 2 miles from RO, I strongly encourage your student to take the bus. If you have been dropping off your child to school in the morning this year, you have seen how long the drop off and pick up line can be (passing the police and fire stations most days, presenting a potential safety issue for our first responders). With double the students coming to RO, we want to encourage bus transportation. Students wear masks on the bus and will spread out as much as possible.
As we transition to Phase 4, our students will take with them communication and technology skills that they likely did not have prior to this pandemic. We grow stronger with persevering through challenges.
