Library Walking Field Trip
Once a month, our students take a walk to the Petaluma Regional Library where we meet one of the dedicated children's librarians for some educational fun! Our students love listening to specially selected books, singing songs and asking questions about the library. The children then get to spend some time looking at books in the children's area where we select several books to check out and bring back to school.
In order to make sure that your child can go to the library with us, please be sure to arrive at the school by 9:15 am. We CANNOT allow children to be dropped off to us at the library as they must be signed in at the school building.
You can help us make these walks successful by dressing your child in layers and in good, well-fitting walking shoes that stay on while walking briskly. We use this monthly walk as an opportunity to focus on listening to instructions in a group setting, practicing traffic safety rules and best-practices as well as demonstrating our grace and courtesy skills in our community.
Thank you for your cooperation and please let us know if you have any questions!
