A Message from the Principal
I want to send a message to the parents of the Greene School. I have to start by thanking you for your unwavering support. The past couple of years have been demanding on educators. We have felt an additional burden with the ongoing construction project of the new Greene School. These challenges have proven to be opportunities for our staff. We have collaborated and problem solved each concern as they have come at us. When we have needed extra support or help, you have been there for us. The students you send us everyday are the absolute best! I have enjoyed every second with them. I wake up every morning excited to see what the day will bring and I am never disappointed.
While I get to see the great things that go on each day, I know it has been a challenge to share this with you. As we work on different projects, we like to include students. For example, a group of 5th grade students helped us design the playground for the new school. We also worked with a group of 6th graders to decide how to celebrate them at the end of this school year. Several students have been helping us decide what to put in the time capsule that will be buried in the lower courtyard of the new school. As a part of this project, I asked one student to write a letter to the students who will open that time capsule. This student did an amazing job capturing what life was like at Greene. I feel there is no better way to share what it has been like here than to share this letter with you. You can view the letter by clicking HERE (it’s worth the time it takes to read it!).
Thank you again for a great school year. I wish our 6th graders the best of luck next year at the junior high. We are excited to have our 5th grade students step up as the leaders at Greene as we build on a great culture for our school. Enjoy your summer and I will see you soon!
Supply List for Rising 6th Graders
Are you planning to move out of the district before next school year?
Dear Parent:
As we plan for the next school year, it is important for us to know how many pupils plan to attend Sycamore Schools.
If you know that you will be moving out of the Sycamore School District, or that your child will be attending a private or parochial school and will not be attending Sycamore Schools next Fall, please complete the form attached below and return it to the Greene School office by Tuesday, May 17th. You do not need to send in a form if your 6th grader is just moving up to the Sycamore Junior High as a 7th grader. If you plan to withdraw from Sycamore Schools, it is important that you notify the school office so that we may process records for your child’s new school. Thank you for your cooperation.
Sincerely,
Matthew A. Tudor
Principal
To Families Who Are Not Returning to Sycamore Next Year
If you are not returning to Sycamore Community School District for the 2022-23 school year, you are to return the school issued Chromebook and charger before you leave school in May 2022. Please return the Chromebook and charger to the school library/media center and give it to the librarian or technician. If you leave the district during the summer, please return the Chromebook and charger to the District Office: 5959 Hagewa Drive.
If the Chromebook and charger are not returned, you will be charged $250, and the device will be permanently disabled for use on the last day of school. If the charger is not returned with the Chromebook, you will be charged $25. The fees can be paid in your Parent Portal account - Online Fees.

Gifted Summer Opportunities
Transition to the Junior High
Hello Rising 7th grade families. Some of our Junior High students have put together a Virtual Presentation for the 6th grade students. This following link brings you to an interactive google slide presentation that includes a few Junior High tips and a video. We invite your student to click on the following link for a little preview!
Rising 7th Virtual Presentation
As a reminder, the first day of 7th grade is a transition day for 7th grade students only. This is a day dedicated to helping students navigate the building, become comfortable with where their classes are located, meet their teachers, test their lockers, start learning routines, etc. We hope you have a wonderful summer and look forward to meeting everyone next school year!

From Child Nutrition
Free Meal Waivers Expire June 3, 2022
Sycamore Child Nutrition will return to pre-pandemic operations, which include charging for student meals, at the start of the 2022-23 school year.
For the past two years, the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) has offered waivers to Child Nutrition (CN) Programs across the United States, allowing these programs to offer all students breakfast and lunch, at no charge. These waivers will expire June 3 and will not be renewed for CN programs nationally.
Families who qualify for free and reduced meals based on the income of all family members will once again be asked to complete and submit a current school year Free and Reduced Meal Application. Please look for more information after July 1 when the application period opens.
From our Nurse
Attention Parents - End of the year Medication Pick up
