The First Week of Advent and our Craft Show!

This week, our students in our classrooms celebrated the first week of Advent. Advent is a special time for us as we look forward to the coming of Jesus. Many of the students colored their own Advent wreaths and lit the candle of Hope.

During this time, we also reflect on what brings us Joy! Students can walk by the Joy poster and write what brings them Joy! Thank you to our fourth graders for creating our Joy board.

Join us tomorrow for our Craft Fair, Santa, Book Fair, and enjoy some food with the Food Trucks.

It will be a wonderful time!

Popcorn Fundraiser

Monday, Dec. 6th, 8pm to Friday, Dec. 10th, 8am

This is an online event.

It’s a 100% contactless, fundraiser, we keep 50% of the profit and the product ships directly to the buyer.

Each of us will create a Pop-Up Store and sell Double Good gourmet popcorn! Prices range from $18-$59. The popcorn is award-winning and really delicious!

Our fundraising window begins on December 06, 2021, at 8:00 AM and goes until December 10, 2021, at 8:00 AM.

Before the fundraiser begins:

1. Download the Double Good app

2. Enter our Event Code JFVMEU in the app

3. Create your Pop-Up Store and share it out!

The app is available for free on iOS and Android.

Once the fundraiser launches, share out your store on Social Media and to any contacts you may have. This is very easy and the popcorn is wonderful! Great way to send Christmas gifts across the miles!

Updates from The Archdiocese of Chicago

The Archdiocese of Chicago gave us a few updates this week.

1). In the event of a snow day, we do not need to hold online instruction, unless our snow days exceed three.

2). They have asked all of the schools give teachers and staff one mental health day this year, which means it is a day off that the teachers and staff will have no professional development, it is truly a day for them. This will be given to our faculty and staff on March 28, 2022. Please mark your calendars as there will be no school and no extended day offered.

Early Dismissal - 11:30 a.m. - December 7, 2021 - NO Extended Day

Late Nite Catechism Comes to St. Damian

We are very excited to announce that our fundraiser this year will be "Late Nite Catechism" on March 24, 2022. While we have secured the event, quite a bit of planning will need to be put in place. We would love for you to join our committee. Please contact Mrs. Ward if you would like to help us out. We really do need you. There are a variety of opportunities large and small to be involved! Thank you so much for your help.
