Note From The Principal's Desk

Greetings from Washington D.C.!

While always tough to be out of the building for a week, it has been such a blessing to be with our 8th grade students on their trip to Washington D.C. We have toured the battlefield at Gettysburg, toured much of downtown Washington DC, saw the changing of the guard at the Tomb of the Unknowns at Arlington National Cemetery, and marched in the National March for Life! It has been so much fun watching the students experience all that they have had the chance to see!

We have a busy couple of weeks coming up! I want to invite all parents to the first State of the School presentation on Thursday night at 6:30pm in the cafeteria. I plan to share where we are as a school, where we want to go, and how we plan to get there! Next, Sunday afternoon is our Open House – come and visit with your child’s teacher for next year! I would also encourage you to invite others you may know whose children do not attend Holy Name. Your personal invitation means so much and provides for a new family to have the opportunity to learn what we have to offer as a school community! Finally, the week of January 29th is Catholic School’s Week! This is a great time for us to celebrate the gift of Catholic school’s across the country.

Finally, we are quickly approaching the time for registration for the 2018-2019 school year. In the coming weeks, you will be receiving more information on registration for returning families as well as information for potential new families for you to share!

Have a great weekend and I am looking forward to seeing everyone on Monday!

Catholic Schools Week

Catholic Schools Week is less than a month away, and we are looking for parent volunteers! Monday, January 29 is Student Appreciation Day. The staff would love to greet each and every student during arrival. To make this happen, we need a parent volunteer to cover each homeroom from 7:25-7:45am. Please contact Amy Wright (awright@holyname.cc) if you are available and would be willing to assist. Thank you in advance for your support as we celebrate the beautiful children of Holy Name!

1st Day of Catholic Schools Week

On Monday, January 29, we will be celebrating Student Appreciation Day as part of our Catholic Schools Week celebration. We would like to ask parents to write a personal letter to your child(ren), sharing your love and appreciation for them. These will be distributed to students throughout the school day. Please send your letter in a sealed envelope to your child’s homeroom teacher by Wednesday, January 24. Thank you for being a special part of our celebration for the children of Holy Name!

Stay tuned to our next Highlights for a run-down of Catholic Schools Week events and themes!
