Irons Family,

We are having an excellent finish to the school year! Our students did a fantastic job with STAAR assessments. I could not be more proud of the effort our students put forth.

We recognized over 160 students at our annual Red Carpets Awards on Thursday night. Congratulations to these students for their hard work and dedication to Irons Jr. High.

I want to thank our local State Farm Agent, Kari Romano, for her generous support of Irons Jr. High. This school year, with a grant from State Farm and a matching gift from Mrs. Romano Irons Jr. High, received a donation of 5000 dollars to support our students and teachers. We will put the money to use by purchasing needed bike racks for our students, providing a teacher luncheon for our staff, and starting a student incentive program next school year.

Students are not allowed to bring backpacks, large purses, or athletic duffel bags starting Monday, May 22nd, through the last day of school, Thursday, May 25th. Students arriving with large bags will be asked to turn the bag into the counselor's office for storage during the school day. Students can use a small purse or string bag to carry phones, classwork, pens, and pencils needed for reviews or exams during the final week of school.

Choir:

Congratulations to the Irons Choir's for all the success at the UIL competition.

Conroe ISD Virtual Academy:

Conroe ISD's Virtual Academy is enrolling students for the 2023-2024 school year. Students must be enrolled in Conroe ISD and entering grades 5-9 for the 2023-24 school year to be eligible to apply. Check out our website for more information: http://virtual.conroeisd.net

For the safety of all students, we will only allow our car rider students to exit in front of the school. Parents, please do not ask your child to violate this expectation. It will take all of us working together to keep our students safe.

Summer School:

Information for Jr. High Summer School for Credit Recovery will be out at the end of April.

We do know that Summer school credit recovery courses will cost $140.00 per course and will run from June 5th to June 29th:

• Please keep a close eye on grades in Parent Access Center.
• Have your child at school daily
• Stay in communication with your child's teacher and counselor.

STAAR Camp:

STAAR camp will take place from June 6th to June 29th. Students that do not meet standard will be selected on space availability.

Yearbook:

Pre-Ordered Yearbook distribution will occur Wednesday, May 17th, during 6th period.

Final Exam Schedule:

Final Exams will start Friday, May 19th. You can find the full schedule below.

School Supplies:

Irons 23-24 School Supplies are on sale now through May 23rd.

Support Irons Jr. High by purchasing your school supplies through the school. A portion of the sales will support student programs on campus.

Supplies will be available for pickup during schedule pickup day on July 31st from 4-7pm.

A limited quantity of packs will be available for purchase at the Schedule Pickup.

Packs will be $70. Please bring correct change, cash only.

Clinic:

All medications will need to be picked up from by 1:00 on 5/25. Any medication not pick up will be disposed after 1:00 on 5/25/23

Smart Tags:

All students should keep their smart tag student ID in a safe location over the summer for use next school year or in summer school. If you are a 7th-grade student who has lost your smart tag and needs a replacement, you may purchase one for two dollars in the counseling center or at schedule pick-up day next school year.
