To District 67 and 115 Faculty, Staff, Students, and Families:
The National Weather Service is forecasting Tuesday morning wind chills of 30 to 40 below zero and has issued a Wind Chill Warning. Following District policy regarding Wind Chill Warnings, all District 67 and 115 schools will be closed on Tuesday, January 16.
After-school activities, club meetings, and Champions after-school care will be canceled. Information on athletic events and practices is forthcoming and will be communicated directly to student-athletes by team coaches.
Please note that District 67 Kindergarten Information Night will still take place remotely at 6:30 PM, as scheduled. More information can be found here.
All 12-month staff, excluding Facilities staff, have the option of working remotely on Tuesday, pending supervisor approval. Please see your email and the website for more information.
Barring an unforeseen change in the forecast, District 67 and 115 classes will resume as normal on Wednesday, January 17.
A Reminder About District 67 and 115 Emergency School Closures
Following a community survey last year, it was determined that in the event of a weather emergency, each District has two allocated days of non-instruction (what we have historically referred to as “snow days”) for students and staff. Should future conditions require school closure beyond those two days, the State of Illinois now allows for eLearning days in lieu of traditional snow days.
All my best,
Matthew L. Montgomery, Ph.D.
