For our 3rd distance learning experience I do ask that you step back and relax. Find fun ways to do the learning! This packet goes out on Monday and you should have received my email explaining the pickup process last night. You will find that email below should you need it.
This coming week is Teacher Appreciation Week! Please have your child take a moment to thank their teachers...including you. This 4th nine weeks has truly been the effort of the entire Midway family! Thank you all! Thank you to our Midway teachers and staff!!
Enjoy this beautiful weather! Please take care of each other during this very different and trying time!! Also, please remember to reach out should you or child need support of any kind.
I truly miss you all but I recognize the priority of safety. See you on Monday with smiles and masks!
Yours truly,
Jan Fickling, Principal

Distance Learning Experience #3
Midway's 3rd distance learning packet pickup is on Monday, May 4. During this pickup you will also receive your child’s personal items from the classrooms. We know that this will take longer so we have spread the pickup process out in several pickup areas as described below.
- Packet Transfer into Car: We ask that you roll a window down by the seat that no one is sitting and the staff member will place the bag through the open window and on the seat. These bags won’t sit on your windshield like before. This way you don’t get touched by our gloved hands. We are all about the safety.
- Car Rider Tag or Visible Names: You may use your car rider tag or place in your windshield a paper with your child’s teacher name and your child’s last name.
- Here are the packet pickup locations:
Kindergarten: Bus loop
1st Grade: right end facing front of building (car rider pickup area for 1st) on front loop
2nd Grade: middle of building front on the school’s front loop (crosswalk)
3rd Grade: left end facing front of building (car rider pickup area for 3rd) on front loop
4th and 5th Grade: staff parking lot
4. Drop off: There will be a cart at the end of the three loops (Kindergarten loop, 1st/2nd/3rd grade loop, and 4th/5th grade loop) to drop off items, i.e. library books, school books or materials not in use. All school books and items should be returned by May 22, the last day of distance learning. Note that we also have boxes on the bench at the front doors for drop offs during the week.
5. Pick up times on Monday:
5K and New to 1st Grade Registration
Please remember that we are accepting registration for 5-year Kindergarten and new to Midway 1st graders. Please email Kelley Waslewski at kwaslewski@lexington1.net and she will send you the registration packet. This is very important to get these students enrolled as this is how the number of teachers is determined. We want to be ready for August! Also, spread the word to your new neighbors!
