ClassConn Spring Updates
The Classical Association of Connecticut
We need YOU to run a Latin Day workshop!
Salvete Omnes,
We hope you're all enjoying the early taste of spring, when everyone's thoughts turn to the upcoming Latin Day (right??). Friday April 27 as usual at Holiday Hill!
Check out our website https://ctstatelatinday.wordpress.com/ with the latest updates, including new (easier!) rules on declamation and costumes. Last date to sign up is April 2 and no limit on number of students:)
We have some workshops not returning because we need someone to lead it, including Lumpies -- Lumpies!! -- and we also have a new policy that chaperones who run workshops (or presentations) will receive a complimentary admission bracelet.
Please consider volunteering for one of the workshops that is lacking a director this year (Lumpies or other): advice and help will be offered. If you have led a workshop in the past and are willing to do so again, please contact us. If you know someone who would lead a workshop, get in touch! You can also suggest one of your own workshops: anything hands-on that you already do in your classroom would be perfect.
The fine print: Workshops are revolving-door, hands-on activities; many are crafts that students can take home. They are organized as two 1-hour sessions, separate or back-to-back. You can expect 1-2 additional chaperones as help. As the workshop 'runner', you are responsible for bringing supplies, organizing, supervising, and cleaning up the workshop. We can reimburse you for workshop supplies up to a certain amount.
Please email Clement Kuehn at clement.kuehn@meridenk12.org if you are willing to help run a workshop.
Remember that Latin Day is only as great as we make it!
