Introduction
Within this flyer I will tell the difference between the poems, Sleeping in the Forest, and Ode to the enchanted light. I will be using the similes, personification, and metaphors.
Tone and Word Choice
Sleeping in the Forest: This poem made me think that she was dead. It says "I thought the earth remembered me." "I slept has never before, a stone on the riverbed."
Ode to the enchanted light: This poem makes me think that their is no one near the forest. "A cicada sends its sawing song high into the empty air."
Figurative Landuage
Sleeping in the Forest:"I slept as never before, a stone on the river bed." That simile means that she was sleeping like she was a stone.
Ode to the enchanted light:"The world is a glass overflowing with water." This metaphor means that their is a lot of water around the world.
Format
The poem called Sleeping in the Forest has a shape like a tree called a pine tree. The poem Ode to the enchanted light is shaped like grass.
Conclusion
Both of the poems talk about nature and how they feel about it. Both of the poems say that they respect nature and how they like it. Even if both poems don't talk about the same point of nature they still show respect for it.
