The Bobcat Beat
Fern Hill Elementary School, September 21, 2018
September is soaring by...
While we have only been in school 15 days, it feels like we never left! The children are excited and happy to learn every day and how quickly our classrooms and hallways are being filled with student work!
Parent Pick Up: We have a few families that live close enough to school that they walk. These families will now pick up their children from the front office. NO ONE SHOULD PARK IN THE FRONT PARKING LOT AND WALK TO THE PARENT PICK UP MOVING FORWARD. If you are picking your child up, please wait in the parent pick up line. We appreciate your assistance with this as we want to keep our parent pick up process safe and running smoothly.
Attendance Hotline: Just a reminder that if your child is going to be late or absent, please call the attendance hotline at 484.266.1610.
Student Lunches: Please feel free to visit www.payforit.net to add money onto your child's lunch account. If you are interested in seeing what your child purchases each day, you can view this information on the website. Additionally, if you would like to set any type of restrictions for what your child can purchase, please feel free to reach out to our cafeteria manager, Mrs. Marybeth Sloss (firstname.lastname@example.org).

Safety: One of our main priorities at Fern Hill is safety. As such, we will conduct various safety drills throughout the school year.
At home you can reiterate the following directions that we give to your children:
In any emergency or drill:
1. Stay Calm
2. Stay Quiet
3 Listen to the Adult in Charge
We work closely with the West Goshen Police Department and our School Resources Officers to conduct our drills. In early October, with the assistance of the SROs, we will practice getting out of the school through our egress windows. Each classroom has an egress window that we can safely exit the building from the classroom if necessary. We want to make sure we practice this with our children. We will practice with each individual class. When we have drills here at school, I will communicate with you that we have conducted a drill, so you can follow up with your child at home.
Beginning of Year Paperwork: Please be sure to visit the link to update your medical information: https://www.wcasd.net/site/Default.aspx?PageID=8036.
