Optional Visit to BSE Media Center

Just a reminder that you're invited to join us for an optional visit to the Brooks School Elementary Media Center on Tuesday, March 22nd. This will give you the opportunity to add your creative thoughts to the implementation of our creative work space design here at HRE. While our media center does not have to be a replica of BSE, it will allow you to see some of the key components in action that we would like to create at HRE. Remember, this is only if you would like to attend! After our visit we will schedule a follow-up session at HRE to brainstorm ideas. If you have any questions please let Lauren, Andrew, or Will know.

Please RSVP to Lauren by the end of the day Monday so she can give the media specialist at BSE a head count. Thanks!

Spring is Here!

As the weather warms so does the sub calendar! All kidding aside, I did want to remind staff that Monday's and Friday's are very tricky days to find substitutes the final nine weeks of the school year. There will always be sickness or events that you cannot avoid, but please be mindful of this as you plan your calendar. The HSE District sub coordinator assigns full day absences to perms first. It is easier for us to cover a half day absence internally but the chances are greater that half day absences will go uncovered since most subs prefer to work a full day. Also, Cathy is more than happy to make calls to try to find subs if you are able to give her several days advance notice to do so. If you have any questions please let Cathy or I know. Thanks!

HSE21 In Action!

AESOP Reminders

The link for logging into Aesop is on the HSE District home page under STAFF.

https://www.aesoponline.com/login2.asp

You enter your Aesop Id (your phone number), and your pin (your employee id number)

If ill, you need to put your absence into AESOP with as much notice as you can give - technically no later than 6 AM. Any absences not entered or entered after 6 AM will not be filled with a sub.

Upcoming Kona Ice Event

Kona Ice will be back with us the day of our Spring Parties. By hosting Kona for this paid event they have agreed to return on our Field Day in May and provide every HRE student with a FREE Kona Ice. In addition, they will also be sponsoring the entire cost of a Lego Wall project that is being planned. The logistics for the day are below...

Here is the Kona schedule for Thursday, March 31st...

  • 12:45-1:30, Kindergarten (Kindergarten hallway)
  • 1:30-2:00, 4th Grade (Cafeteria)
  • 2:00-2:30, 1st Grade (Cafeteria)
  • 2:30-3:00, 2nd Grade (Cafeteria)
  • 3:00-3:30, 3rd Grade (Cafeteria)

We will have classroom teachers line up your students based on the size Kona they are purchasing (largest to smallest). You can hand your envelope to the Kona folks as you enter and tell them how many of each size you have. Permission/Opt-out slips will go home on Monday, March 28th. If you have students who do not return a form at all and you feel it is because of financial need, then you may put them at the end of your line so they can receive a treat. Please use your judgement and only do this for students who NEED it. If you have any questions or concerns please be sure to let me know.
