Norwood Happenings

Spring Creek BBQ Fundraiser-

Tuesday, April 5th is the Spring Creek Norwood fundraiser. Teachers will be there serving hot bread! It will be a great time to come together as a community and have dinner!! Norwood will receive a portion of the evenings entire sales based upon the number of Norwood families participating and purchasing dinner. 5th grade teachers will be serving bread from 6:00-6:30. Come see us!

Kinder Round Up-

Tuesday, April 26 from 2-6 pm. If you have a student that will be in kindergarten in the fall, come and pre-register for Norwood.

Camp Carter

Please send final payments as well as background checks, medical forms and the signed "Three Strikes" contract.

Drama Select

Drama select is an audition only drama class that performs at UIL competitions as well as other commmunity events throughout the school year. If your student is interested in being in Drama Select next year, there is a mandatory parent meeting tonight, April 4th, and April 11th at 5:30 pm in the drama room at Kerr Middle School. Parents will only need to come to one of the meetings.

Math Madness

This week we will be focusing on graphing and ordered pairs as well as diving into 6th grade math! Students will also be introduced to 3 Act Math, where they must think critically and ask questions to solve challenging math questions using videos and technology.

In the Science Lab

We are studying food chains and food webs. Also, students will discover what happens in an environment when part of the food chain dies out.

The Reading Corner

This week students will be reading Junior Great Books and working on inferencing.

Blast from the Past

Students will be studying about World War I and the Great Depression during Social Studies.
