The trait for the month of May is “Patience”. We will be focusing on the trait for the entire month in class and also on the announcements.

The students really enjoyed the Book Fair last week. Thanks so much to our FFO for taking the lead on offering our students the opportunity to purchase books.

The “Evening of the Arts” was well attended and it was great to see so many families on Saturday. The “Art Gallery” of all the students artwork which were all self-portraits with a

different theme for each grade was amazing and the children did a great job under the leadership of our art teacher, Mrs. Fouts.

Mr. Koenig did a great job of leading our band and our choir. They put on a fantastic performance. So did our Orchestra under the direction of Mrs. Sah.

We also had Mariachi Bands perform, our very own Kindergarten teacher Senorita Bejarano is a member of the Mariachi Band and she entertained us with a solo and the band played many other songs. We all enjoyed their performance.

Additionally, we had Folklorico Perform and the dancers were enjoyed by all. It was great to see elementary, high school and older dancers.

Again, what a great evening, thanks to our FFO and Mrs. Corales for taking the lead on this very entertaining Saturday.

Last week our 3rd graders took a field trip to Tucson Village Farm! They were able to learn all about plants and how to make good soil for plants to grow. They also worked with different garden tools and even got to make individual pizzas with fresh ingredients.

Lost & Found is looking pretty full again. With the warm weather, we have a sizable collection of sweatshirts and jackets. Please remind your child(ren) to check for any missing items. Or if you will be visiting campus for an end of year celebration or for any other reason, please stop by our Lost & Found.

Market Day prep is under way for 2nd grade and students are super excited about their stores! Students are working on pricing their goods or services, working together, making decisions, being innovative, using problem solving skills, showing creativity, and compromising ideas in a positive way. It’s great to see them delegate tasks and work on so many important life skills all at once!

Some of our 3rd graders were feeling photogenic this week and asked to have their picture taken during this beautiful springtime recess.

What a wonderful turnout we had on Saturday- thank you to all the families that came to support the arts! A special thank you Mrs. Fouts for all the amazing art that was created and displayed at Evening of the Arts, Mr. K for all the hard work for the Choir and Band performances, Dr. Sah & Mrs. Sah for their great work with the Orchestra, and also to Kindergarten's Ms. Marisol for the incredible performance with Mariachi Luz de Luna!

The Spring Evening of the Arts was a wonderful time where we celebrated all that our Ventana Vista Bobcats have learned in the arts this school year. A special thanks to Mrs. Fouts for putting together such a amazing art gallery!
