SEC 3700 Newsletter
Issue #1 March 6, 2023
Dear Colleagues,
Welcome to our first Southland Educational Center 3700 Newsletter! It's taken a while to get this launched but I'm hoping it will be a great way to communicate building related items on a regular basis. If you have items you would like to send out in the next newsletter (I can try to do them weekly), please email them to me at tmilligan5868@columbus.k12.oh.us
Introducing Dr. Tonya Milligan the New Building Manager
Greetings! My name is Tonya Milligan and I have recently become the new building manager of 3700 South High Street. I've been with CCS for 30 years serving as a teacher at Northland and South HS, a Curriculum TOSA, an Assistant Principal at Linden McKinley High School and Walnut Ridge, and the proud principal of Briggs High School for 7 years. I currently serve CCS as the Executive Director of Teaching and Learning and I am located at the main entrance of the building in room 144. I have 2 children, Conor who is 21 and going to college at the University of Tampa, and Jessie, who graduated from OU and is preparing to travel overseas to earn a Master's degree. I have 2 cats and a therapy bunny (long story that I'm happy to share). I've been married going on 28 years and enjoy lifting weights, being outdoors, spending time with family and friends, and traveling. Please feel free to stop by anytime and say "hello" and share a little about yourself!
Building Safety
See something, say something!
If you see anything that makes you feel unsafe or concerned, call or text our Safety Specialists Mr. Maddox at 614-205-0059 or Mr. Davis at 614-496-2726.
3700 Guests
There are times when 3700 personnel are leaving for the day and letting guests into the building who are either in the wrong location or entering the wrong side of the building. This creates a safety concern for our Welcome Desk personnel. For safety reasons, if you leave for the day after 3pm (after our Safety team has left) please do not let non-personnel into the building. Ms. Dana can buzz guests in until 4:30 and can guide them to the proper entrance if needed. We appreciate your support with this safety request.
Safety Concerns Inside 3700
If you see any type of safety hazard (tripping hazard, broken equipment or furniture, etc.) or cleanliness concern within the 3700 building, please contact our Head Custodian, Mr. Blankenship at dblankenship3652@columbus.k12.oh.us If it is an emergency, call or text him at 614-397-7278.

Office Space @3700
To ensure that office space is being utilized effectively and aligned with departmental purposes, please do not move offices or office equipment without discussing the change with Dr. Milligan. We are working with Capital Improvements to create a comprehensive district office space alignment and improvement plan that will hopefully enable us to improve our work spaces here at 3700. More information to come!
